The Best Juicy Roasted Chicken

Almost minimal work and very few supplies are needed to roast a whole chicken at home, according to culinary producer Nicole McLaughlin (also known as NicoleMcMom). Here are some of her best tricks for consistently delicious roasted chicken:

Ingredients:

  1. 1 (3 pound) whole chicken, giblets removed
  2. salt and black pepper to taste
  3. 1 tablespoon onion powder, or to taste
  4. ½ cup butter
  5. 1 stalk celery, leaves removed

Instructions:

Step:No:01

Turn the oven on to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Step:No:02

Transfer the chicken to a roasting pan and liberally season it on the inside and outside with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Put three tablespoons of butter inside the chicken cavity and place dollops of the remaining butter outside the bird. Place three or four chopped pieces of celery inside the chicken cavity.

Step:No:03

Bake, uncovered, for 1 hour and fifteen minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices flow clear. The thickest area of the thigh, close to the bone, should register 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius) on an instant-read thermometer.

Step:No:04

Take out of the oven and brush with the rendered fat. Before serving, cover with aluminum foil and let it rest for about half an hour.
