Easy Orange Chicken Recipe

 This recipe for orange chicken is sweet, sticky, and very tasty. It tastes like the orange chicken from a well-known Chinese restaurant in the shopping center! It's surprisingly simple to prepare for delectable takeout at home.

Ingredients:

  1. 1 ½ cups water
  2. ⅓ cup rice vinegar
  3. ¼ cup lemon juice
  4. 2 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
  5. 2 tablespoons orange juice
  6. 1 cup packed brown sugar
  7. 2 tablespoons chopped green onion
  8. 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  9. ½ teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
  10. ½ teaspoon minced garlic
  11. ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  12. 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  13. 2 tablespoons water
  14. 2 large skinless, boneless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
  15. 1 cup all-purpose flour
  16. ¼ teaspoon salt
  17. ¼ teaspoon pepper
  18. 3 tablespoons olive oil

In a saucepan over medium-high heat, combine water, rice vinegar, lemon juice, soy sauce, and orange juice for the sauce. Bring to a boil after adding the brown sugar, green onion, orange zest, ginger, garlic, and pepper flakes. Take off the stove and let cool for ten to fifteen minutes.

Put chicken in a plastic bag that can be sealed. Add one cup of the cooled sauce. After sealing the bag, chill it for a minimum of two hours. Keep the remaining sauce aside.

Combine flour, salt, and pepper in a separate plastic bag that can be sealed.

Take the chicken out of the marinade and put it in the seasoned flour bag. Shake to coat after sealing the bag.
